Submitting Manual PIREPs

Since June 2022 we have now enabled the ability for virtual airlines to enable (from the “Airline Details” section within the Crew Portal section) the submission of manual PRIERPs by airline members; this feature has been developed to to enable pilots to submit manual PIREPs for flights for the following reasons:

  • Xbox users - There currently isn't a way for us to directly integrate with the XBox platform and therefore, manual PIREPS can enable XBox users to contribute to an airlines' flights.
  • Other simulators - This can also be used by pilots of whom use other flight simulators that are not supported by FSUIPC such as DCS World, AeroFly, FlightGear, GeoFS to name a few.
  • MSFS2020 CTDs (Crashes) - There is nothing more frustrating than wasting hours of time to, at the end of the flight, lose your flight data due to a CTD, now you can manually enter a flight report instead (if the worst does happen!)

This feature has limited support and telemetry data is non-existent (as we cannot track anything) - something that the LRM client will do automatically for PC users.

The Manual PIREP submission is designed to be simple and easy to complete (we keep fields and required data to a minimum).

There are however several limitations to this feature which are as follows:-

  1. The landing rate will automatically use your virtual airline's global average landing rate for the last 24 hour period (if this value is less than 25fpm, we'll use the global flight average) - this is to combat abuse of illegitimate landing rates being submitted which would boost stats. The only exception is for premium users of whom are able to manually enter their landing rate in the same way that they are able to edit their flight reports and correct/adjust their landing rate.
  2. Distance flown (nm) is automatically calculated and the “flight map” will show a direct route between the departure and arrival airports (as we are unable to track your actual flown path due to the lack of telemetry data from LRM client).
  3. Manually entered flight reports is not be included in the global stats (as this cannot be verified).
  4. No altitude and speed charts will be displayed on the flight report page (as this data is not available).
  5. The global achievement system is disabled to prevent abuse and false reports - putting manual PIREP users at an unfair advantage.
  6. Airlines VA achievements will automatically be awarded (if the criteria is met) and only once a member of the VA has “approved” the PIREP. Manual PIREP approval is at the discretion of the VA owner (do not contact FsHub directly to award these - you will need to contact your VA management team).
  7. Fuel burn, max altitude and other telemetry information is simply not available on Manual PIREP flight reports (again, due to the missing telemetry data).
  8. We only support adding manual PIREPs that have been flown within the last two weeks.
  9. Flight times per PIREP cannot exceed the longest known flight (18hr and 50 minutes).
  10. PIREPs can only be filed once the flight has been flown - eg. you cannot file a flight report with a departure/arrival date and time in the future.

It is easy for other pilots to identify a “Manual PIREP” report as a “flag” is automatically attached to the report as follows:
