Corporate Airline Mode
Corporate Airline Mode is currently under active development and will be coming soon!
The Corporate Airline Mode (CAM) is an airline-level system, whilst independent of the Pilot Rewards system (a much simpler “economy mode”), it does require the virtual airline to have the Pilots Reward system enabled if you wish to enable CAM and will, as you probably expect, use the same “reward point” name that you have configured in for your airline..
When you switch your virtual airline to CAM mode (much in the same way that you can enabled the “Pilot Reward System”, your airline will generate money based on routes flown by your pilots and the frequency of these flights, your airline will be fined for inefficient operations (failure to fly your routes and missing your landing slots), charged for airline gate rental, random failures/bills, hard landings maintenance bills etc). Your airline will also be rewarded for the efficient running of your virtual airline through carefully balancing your routes, pilot pay and keeping your corporate bank balance in the green…
The most profitable virtual airlines that have enabled “CAM mode” will automatically be floated on a virtual stock exchange system too which will fluctuate based on the airline's operations in real-time - enabling both the FsHub users/pilots (the trader) to buy and sell stocks in the top 25 virtual airlines on FsHub as an additional side hustle for virtual pilots when they're not able to fly at their desktop computer - the airline will, in addition also benefit from these transactions.
Let's look at a scenario using the Rewards system and CAM
So, lets' say I want to create a virtual airline on FsHub and to add to the immersion for my pilots (and hey, I like the whole idea of running a commercial/profit-making business too), I decide to enable “CAM” on my FsHub airline too…
As with all businesses, I'll probably need to start off small as having too many routes from day one and very few pilots will mean that my routes simply won't get flown and, our virtual airline's AEI (Airline efficiency index) will plummet and we will be fined heavily for not making our landing/take-off slots as well as charged for non-use of rented gates/cargo bays.
I'll set up a couple of routes and ensure that I personally fly BOTH routes every day to ensure that my airline's AEI remains at 100%, if I have time and can fly one of the routes twice, I'll be able to get a slight bonus for the virtual airline and the AEI will get capped at 125% of which will see our taxes decreased and our profits increased for the period and will be able to hold on to more of our hard-earned cash…
Whilst this is great that we are able to keep our AEI at > 100% for the day, our airline would benefit (daily profits) by having more active daily pilots and more routes, this will happen over time though and expanding too quickly will surely damage the business (unless your pilots are able to fly your routes on a regular basis, to ensure that your AEI is maintained and can keep paying your bills)…
If my airline continues to grow and the Airline Score (AS) is in the top 25, the airline will automatically be floated on the FsHub virtual Stock exchange (SKYDAQ) and will be able to trade on by FsHub pilots who want to use some of their reward points to hopefully increase their existing reward points.
As my airline grows, I will add more routes, some of these routes however will be less interesting to pilots - maybe it's a long haul flight (to increase our airline profit bonuses) but we know that our pilots are less likely to fly the leg on a regular basis… we'll need to award/pay more (to make it worthwhile for the pilot) for the completion of this leg, whilst reducing the points awarded for the more interesting/enjoyable/shorter routes to ensure they are flown equally to keep our AEI up - this is where balancing the books will be key!
More info about the ACM will be coming soon…
